I just finished this one today. I started it a few months ago and got side tracked. Once I got back after it, I was finished pretty quickly! It's a '61 Falcon Ranchero, from the AMT kit. I got the wheels and tires from a die-cast "Road Rats" kit. The Indian blanket seat cover is from the R/M '29 Ford "rat rod" pickup kit. Paint is Dupli-Color dark grey primer. The engine was made up using the Chevy big-block that came with the kit, but I wanted something different, so I used the heads and intake from the Dodge "Red Ram" hemi out of the AMT '29 Ford roadster kit. Nice what you can get away with when you're working with plastic! I plan to add a trailer hitch so that I can use it as a tow vehicle! Lee

Nice model. I'm sorry, but primer and red rims does not instantly qualify something to be a 'rat rod'. Just in case, I don't intend to debate this point, either. Geezerman

Nice build, Lee. I do kinda agree with Geezerman though.
BUT, at the same time, it does look alot like a rat rod.
It's kind of a "new style" rat rod, if you will.
Either way, nice job.

I like it, but it is more of a custom with a suede paint job. EITHER WAY...AWESOME !!!!
