Here is the start of a new project for me. I had a old build of a ZZ top 33 Ford coupe that sat in a box of models that were dumped on the floor and ruined on me years ago(Long story). I recently bought a Thom Taylor 34 Roadster for parts( 2 kits not enough body parts to build one so I started setting the pieces together I liked the way it looked from the start. I wanted it to be fenderless as a real hot rod should be and I wanted the front to be clean without the frame showing, so I narrowed the front of the chassis. I wanted the body to set low so I channelled it over the frame I found some old wrecked sprint cars and stole the rear tires from them and I thought this car would look wild with the Fuel Injection from the sprint car on it so I stole that also. I have a Monogram NASCAR model (29 Cartoon network) that I figured wasn't going to get built so it will be donateing it engine. If this build comes together the way I'm seeing it right now it should be pretty wild Chuck J

I've been doing a lot of work on the chassis to get the look from the model that I want. I've got the crossmembers reworked to fit the engine I'm going to use. I still don't have it the way I think it should look so I'm going to z the frame to lower it Chuck J

With all the snow we've had recently I haven't been on the computer much or had alot of time to work on my model. Here is an update on what I've been up to on the 33. The floor board is made up with a tranny hump from a 37 Ford Sedan and a piece of sheet styrene. This hood was found in the parts box I bought and I had to repair a hole someone had cut into it. I cut out the center of the grill so I can chop out a piece of the grill. The tape is how much I will be removing. Here is the difference in the kit grill and the one I cut. The center will be reused. Here is where I'm at now reshaping the sides of the hoods to fit the new shape of the grill I've got an idea of how this is going to look when done and hopefully it wiil come out the see it. For the paint I'm thinking purple with yellow flames. Chuck J

the front axle had shocks mounted on it that I didn't care for so I cut them off and built new one from aluminum tubing, then added the mounts to the chassis I soaked the body in Purple Power for a total of 5 days to remove the 15 year old paint. Then I had to reattach the roof and redo the body putty around it When the body is redy for new paint I'm going to try the new House Of Kolors line of enamals for model cars Kustom Kolors. I think that this purple with yellow flames would look good on this model For now I'm going to take a break from the body to work on the engine and chassis some more. I'll have some more pictures soon. Chuck J

Got the body out of the paint stripper, fixed the putty work and put a coat of primer on most of it. decided to take a break from the body work so I can get some work done on the chassis and engine. I plumbed up all the fuel lines for the injectors and now you can't even see them then I ran the plug wires. With the starter in I can't get any headers to fit between the frame rails, so I'm going to have to change plans again. Also I'm going to have to come up with a different fan belt assembly as the one for the engine(from the 37 Ford kit) won't fit under the hood. The purple on the valve covers is the same as what I'm using for the body

Thanks rustycab I've put a lot of work into this model. I'm glad you like what I've done so far. It's good to get the feedback so I get some idea if I'm heading the right way with it. The block hugger headers I was going to use won't fit now becuase of the narrowed chassis, so the plans needed to be changed. The sides of the hoods won't be used now. I've been working on building some headers from aluminum tubing to go over the frame. They've been giving me a bit of trouble and as you can see I've tried a few different designs. I've come up with a design that I likeso now I'm just tring to get them all to match. I need to get a bit more work done on the chassis and body with to get everything to fit together just right
