I haven't been able to work on this one much lately. Here's what I've done since the last update. I am not using the kit supplied front spindles because they won't sit low enough for this ride. I made new lower and stronger ones with styrene and wire nails. The front fender wells have been removed and new ones will be made to allow for the lower stance and wider front tires. Alex.

After the new fender wells are added I want the change to be so subtle that one doesn't even realize a modification has been made. The effect I'm after is like the one on my Blown 409, below. I may even do a reverse opening hood too. I really like the way it came out on my 409. Alex.

I got bored working on the front suspension and the wheel wells. Besides there,s not much more I can do on those areas until I decide on a color other than some detail work. I decided to continue the body mods by working on the trunk hinges. I'm trying to get as much done today as possible because it may be another month before I can work on this one again. Check out the completed hinge assembly on my Blown 409. Alex.

Hey, I know I am new to the forum and all but I have a color theme suggestion. It was something I always wondered why chevy didn't do in the first place. How about Hugger orange with black rallye stripes. GM had something going with that orange thing. It looked good on the camaro and the GTO why not an impala??
I have one of these waiting in the wings too. It's inspiration is the one from the TV show Supernatural. (Although in the show the car is a four door and has saw blade rims, neither of which I can seem to find.)

Thanks for the suggestion Rollsbug (Steve). I'll keep the Hugger Orange and rallye stripe idea in mind. As for the saw blade wheels, you can find some in the Revell Buick GSX 2 n 1 kit.
Any other ideas on the paint scheme, anyone?
Alex.

That is looking great Alex. Is the paint scheme set in stone or are you up for another idea?

I've been working one the body modifications for the last couple of days. In addition to completing the new front fender wells, I removed all badges, emblems, door handles, door locks and the trunk lock. I hope to put some primer on it tomorrow. That's if I can get the body prepped in time. Alex.

I primed it and sprayed the base color today. The actual color will a darker blue nail polish finish when completed. This will be my first build covered in nail polish. That's all on the paint that I'll tell. The rest is a surprise. Alex.

This one is taking a lot more time than I expected. I don't get to work on it as much as I'd like. So far I've completed the body modifications and did preliminary suspension mods. I finally painted the motor today. I have quite a few trick ideas for it. I got the body masked today and painted on the stripes, although I still have to knock off the rough edges on the them and remasked them for the outlines. The stripes fade from one color to another. I thought I'd do something a little different. Hope ya' like it. Alex.

I finally started on the engine. The block was painted the same as the body. I found valve covers from an old die-cast pro streeter. I made a larger intake plenium than the one supplied with the kit. Kit plenium is far right. The new plenium and valve covers were finished with Dupli-Color Chrome. The velocity stacks will be attached to the plenium. An idea I got from a show car. I made the distributor with aluminum tubing. The engine will be fully wired and detailed down to the dip stick. Alex.

Ok. I got the new intake plenium with velocity stacks completed. Compare the newer larger one with the old smaller plenium. I've started to wire the engine and attached one of the new valve covers. That's all so far. Alex.
