Wow Mike, that looks great! Is this the RoG kit? If it is I hope mine turns out even half as nice as yours did. Can you fill us in on any of the details about the kit and how it went together? TIA.

Thanks John. The kit is Revell Germany and is very minimal. Essentially a body pan, body, 5 piece interior, and uh.. yeah. Minimal. LOL The kit goes together very well. I didn't have any fit issues other than the headlight covers. The biggest problem on the kit is the clear sprue and the windows and headlamp covers. They have extra sprue on them and it's a pain to get them to look clean after cutting them from the excess sprue. I was mildly successful. There are not any chrome parts in the kit, so I highly recommend buying Alclad II and using it. The decals are cake with the exception of the slanted #1 on the front that rides over the front cowl. Some Micro Sol and heat helped it settle in.

Looks beautiful to me. This model would be a good subject for our 24 hour build. Single color body and great decals.
Sweet job.

With the basement getting finished this summer, I will actually be able to participate this year! I was thinking about what Gary had said. Mike, do you think this is a do-able 24 hour kit? Not sure what to do about the wheels. I have very limited airbrush experience, (almost none existent), and I've never used Alclad.

EASILY a 24 hour build. Alclad is easy to use.

HELP MIKE!!!I was just doing some trial fitting of this kit. I am doing this for my 24 hour build. The rear wing does not fit properly in the uprights of the body.....it is too small. Did you have this problem? I can try to pull in the uprights but that actually causes the rear of the body to bow . I may need to shim it up.....not what I want to do for a 24 hour build. Again, did you have this problem

Again, did you have this problem I just went downstairs and inspected the wing as I couldn't remember. LOL Actually mine fits perfectly without any gap. FYI, you'll have to do some clean up on the headlamp lenses as well. They did not fit well at all. The side windows had a bit of a fit issue too if I remember correctly. GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks Mike. Just my luck . The funny thing is when I test fitted the wing with everything in place, there is an equal gap on either side, so its not like one of the body uprights was bent out too far. Eyeballing down the length of the body showed no obvious warpage either. I set the wing on some sheet stock and traced it out. Cut out the tracings and glued them to both ends of the wing. Tonight I will get them sanded down and check for gaps between the wing and the shims. I'll keep my eyes on those clear parts......thanks for the heads up!

The 24 hour build is done. You were correct about the headlight covers and side glass. Lots of flash on both. I got the windows in fairly easy. If you look at the pics from the 24 you will see the headlight covers not installed. I will clean them up at home and install them.
Did you find the decals very thin and hard to keep straight? I had trouble keeping the relatively long Jagermeister decals running straight. Also had a few decals that rolled up underneath themselves.
Overall though I thought the kit's fit was good. No problems that I can remember.
