Well I've been busy this weekend trying to get this master finished for Jimmy Flintstone. If all goes right, you'll be able to pick one up at the NNL in Toledo, Oct. 3, to replace the body in your Revell '49 Merc kit. Here's a first looksie. Full rear skirts molded into the body, forming into a point at the front of the door. I took out the "Merc" door jog also. I still may add a chrome trim piece starting at the middle of the front headlight, across the front fender, across the door, and following the front edge slope of the new skirt. Skirt extends under the rear of the modified rolled pan. Also recessed a license plate into the area below the trunk edge. Yes I still need to score the lower trunk edge. Filled the existing tail-lights so the builder can decide on his own. Quad headlights or a place for some chrome bullets, the builder can decide. I also need to build up some side pods on the lower edge of the front pan. So what do you think?

Looks GREAT so far ! I'm a big fan of Jimmy Flintstones resin stuff, Never got a bad one from him yet-and the prices are fair also. I have'nt bought one of those Revell Merc.s YET, But I'll keep this in mind for when I do. Nice job-so far ! Cecil

I like the design potential you left for the builder and yet made some great improvements

Here is the finished shape of the Merc nose. A little final sanding, touching up, and a little primer, and it's ready to send off to Jimmy.

Ok .... I am officially pissed off. (Pardon the language Bobby) Merc got mail to Jimmy on Tuesday, insured for $200. (I had about 40 to 50 hours in this build.) Tear Drop got mailed to Jimmy Thursday, insured for $200. (Had about 25 hours in this one.) Jimmy called me about 15 min. ago and said he just picked up the Tear Drop from the post Office ..... No Merc! It better be there Monday or I'm going to .......... *%#*@ (you fill in the blank.)

You had us worried. Personally, I've had better luck with USPS than UPS. If you're takin' orders here, add one for me. ;D

I'd love to order one of each, but the freight to Australia would be insane.

;D Jimmy sent out some resin to me yesterday. I should have 4 Mercs and 4 Teardrops on my door step tomorrow. He's also sending back my masters. I'm thinking of tearing the roof off the Merc master and adding a Carson top, as well as some other body mods. I'll then send that off to Jimmy for casting again. (He's also sending some other surprises in the box) I'll post photos of the "booty" when I have it in my Grubby hands. Christmas in September Baby! Ho Ho Ho! ;D

They have arrived! ;D Saturday on my doorstep. The master is in front, I've started building the one to the left for Jimmy, and 3 others right from the mold.

;D It's finished! ;D Finally got this one built for Jimmy to display on his vendor table. I'll show it in Atlanta next weekend, hopefully get it photographed by Scale Auto or Model Cars magazine, and then it's Jimmys. Check it out! Those wheels are out of the Miami Vice Ferrari Daytona The grill in the Revell kit was cut down to fit the new opening. Extra lights are from the parts box. The paint is Tamiya rattle can. Everything was clear coated with Tamiya clear pearl. No interior, built as a slammer.
