Thanks. No new pics today. Tried to hinge the hood yesterday. Came real, real close, but not quite there. Everything worked, but it would not lift the hood up and over the cowl. Acted more like a NASCAR hood that is hinged at the back corners. Maybe a little tweaking of the geometry, I dunno. Never done one before, so this is uncharted territory for me. Later yall.

Well, I sorta got the hood hinge worked out, first time I ever attempted one: It does not operate perfectly, tho. I'm gonna have to leave it unglued from the hinge so that it can slide just a bit on the arms. Bottom line is that I am satisfied with where it sits closed, and opened. Been working on it for a week now, and went thru I don't know how many mock ups before getting to here. Now on to the rest of it!

Have gotten just a little bit more done. I figure a custom of this vintage would have had a brush painted white engine bay, which has not held up well over time. Still need to weather it more: And here is the dash. Made the blue bullet knobs, and used Mercman's idea of a jewelery check ring for a speedo trim ring. That is a vintage Thunderbird speedo in there, gonna add the extra guage panel under the dash. And the clock and radio have been stolen, gotta get those worked out. Thanks for looking!

You're doing a great job on this one Sully. I like the black hood.....nice contrast.
