The IPMS model club I'm in (The Georgia Mountain Modelers) decided to have a group build project called "The Georgia Connection"....we could choose any subject to build, as long as it had something to do with the state of Georgia. I chose to build the Revell Hot Wheels Camaro of 1992 SCCA Trans Am champion Jack Baldwin, of Marietta Ga.
In order to work on my basic building skills, I decided to build the kit to conform to IPMS OOB rules. No aftermarket parts were used...what you see, except paint, comes in the box....with the exception of masking tape seat belts, which are legal for OOB.
The kit went together quite well, until I got to the decals. To be honest, I really didn't expect them to do very well, which is why I painted as much as possible. Still, they broke and chipped and didn't lay down very well. Thats ok though, because I wanted to weather the car to look like it just finished a race. That would explain chipped decals, right? Lol!
Even with the decal issues, this was a very enjoyable build! Now I have a road racing car in my collection!
