I'm happy to report that the Wicked Project is back on the bench. ;D The 1936 Mercedes body is history, R.I.P. I received the new Rapid Prototyped Body from TDR this week, and I had some time to start planning. The body is rough and needs a lot of sanding and some sculpting, but it gives me the base I need to get moving. At 1/16th scale, this sucker is a big 14" long. In real world space it would be 2 feet longer than a '57 Nomad, 9" wider, but 9" shorter. Need a big body to house a 1710 cubic inch, 2500 horsepower engine. Add in the projected Nos system an we are talking 3000+ horsepower. So how about some photos. 1/16 Porsche 928 windshield. You may have seen the Photo-etch already, but if not ..... More later guys. Check out my Fotki site on this build ....... public.fotki.com/gkulchock/all-my-modeling-rel/my-in-progress-mode/wicked-my-ridler-aw/

Can't wait to see this in person. I know how big your photo set-up is, so this thing is huge! Nice close up of the photo-etch sheet.

Just saw that a lot of my links were screwed up on this build, so I went back and fixed them all from the start. Now you can see what the old Mercedes looked like.
Stay tuned, more to come .......

Want to see what I got from TDR Inovations today? I knew this day would someday arrive. I just received some 3D printed parts for my "Wicked" project, and they are better quality than most Tamiya parts. Unreal detail, printed from a computer file. Check these out. 3D Rapid Prototype parts for my "Wicked" project. 1/16th scale working Alternator. V12 Allison Valve Covers. Center section of a Mark Williams rear end. Twin turbos for my 1/16th scale Allison. So what do you think?

Nothing short of amazing! Are we looking at the future of modeling? This process will only get better, faster and cheaper in the future. The "color" or transparency of the material make it hard to see the detail, but it is there and it is something else

Thanks also for the kudos Tom. I've got some new parts Rapid Prototyped, oil pan, universals, and some cool jackstands for the car while working on it. A Lenco transmission is on the way. I've been working on adding additional detail to the engine, and I have build an adjustable building jig for the whole project. I'll try to get photos up tonight if time permits.
