Hi Modellers,
after a long period of silent reading here in these forum I decided that it would be good to become a regular member here.
Now, I am from Germany (please, excuse, if I am not so perfect in grammar etc.), I am nearly 58 years old and a modeller since my childhood. During the sixties I started with that tiny airplane-kits in scale 1:100 from FALLER (a german plastic-kit-producer especially for modell train stuff). Of course, Kits from Airfix, Revell and Lindberg followed step by step. At least I was faszinated in US-Firetrucks (AMT) and started a serial of different firetrucks in 1:25 scale. Firetrucks are still my prefered theme.
In 1982 I entered a german modellers contest and was able to get a vice-champion with an Autocar Dumptruck (yes from AMT), which I converted into a Holmes Wrecker-Truck, which was difficult for me, because I only had one Foto from a similar real truck, but it did not show all the details to create an identically model, and internet was not available 30 years ago.
However, here a small example of what I did:
