Well here goes my first in porgress build. I will try not to be to boring. This is going to be my first paint job useing HOK paint (BC Sunrise color)with Duplicolor primer. I will lower the over all stance use after market wheels & maybe add a scull & flames to the roof. Now I 'm all about helpful ideas so if you got them please post them. I did a little mock up so here a few pics.

Progress report.I found this material at Micheal's & thought that it would be perfect for the wooden truck beds but it turned out to be to big so I found another use for it.I also got the cherry wood bed cut to fit, metal like separators set & the epoxy applied. I will cut to fit & lay down a coupe coats of dulcote when the epoxy dries.

Progress report; Painted a few components like the chassis , engine parts ,block & tranny plus filled a few holes like where the chassis frame protrudes out of the body shell. Also there is a small hint to what color the exterior body will be.

A very nice sedan delivery. I like the wood bed. It would look good with a short block back there. Like it was hauling it home for the next project.

Thanks for posting. My progress has been slowed by a cold bug. Spent the whole weekend in bed . Things are looking up. I have shaved all of the trim plus door handles. I not sure if that was a good idea or not. I have been racking my brain for a cargo idea like a motor or couple surf boards, any thoughts would be appreciated. Maybe a link to some web site that has cool stuff like that.I have seen things like magazines, oil cans etc to scale but not sure where find them.

Well after I rose from death's bed (nasty cold) I began to dabble a bit into my model & started the prep work for painting. I polished the surfaces with 4000 through 12000 grit sandpaper in preparation for the primer coat. Also I did some wood trim work for the rear door.

I had the same problem using the same primer. I how use the Dulpi-color self etching primer for everything. If I want to brighten it up, or add a pop coat, I will shoot the body with a light coat of Dulpi-Color Artic silver then add the top coat. My ghosts went away. Any of the Dulpi-color silvers works just as well, my local auto store seems to always have the Artic Silver. Hope this helps.

Well today was a good day in the building process of my 39 Chevy. I tried Zbuckster's tip & it worked but I could not get the two body parts to match. The cabin was the only part that was screwed up & the fenders turned out golden,so I e mailed Coast Airbrush where I bought the HOK paint from(they sale it by the .0z) & they said to get it back down (all the way to the plastic surface) shoot it with the Duplicoat white sandable primer, let it gas out (eight hours to be safe) lightly sand it again with 600g paper and shoot it again. That plan came together nicely as the A team might say cause it turned out nice. I cannot wait to show you the results. ;D

I like the way you think Dan. This would be my second attempt @ using BMF.The first try worked out better than I expected so I think that I will try the hood first & see how it goes. ;D
