I've never built a diorama, so I figured it was time to step out of my comfort zone. My son and I have been wanting to work on one together and I'd say its about time we did. This should take some time as there will be a lot of trial and error. Not sure what we'll end up with yet so we're going to build some stuff and then put things together. Had this box laying around so we put them together. Looks like they're ready for some paint. And then they have to get to work? There's lots to do!

Just use flat finish paints. Water base acrylics work good. Also add a decal to their shirts if you want to add a little detail to them.

These guys were looking a bit pale so I put some color on to their skin. I think once their hair is colored they will look a bit better. Someone has been out in the sun too long... Working slowly on this entire diorama. An old junker with these fellas working on it is the vision we have.....

Here's a little tip for you, if your real good at small writing, paint a small oval on the front, and give them names.
Also when you do the clothes, if you do blue jeans use a really thin wash of gray, and green to the areas. Look at the farmer's shirt in the pic I posted. Brings out the highlights without being overpowering.

I didn't! I decided on the impact point, took a new blade and stuck it in a little bit to creat the impact point. From there, I took an old blade and scratched the cracks into the glass. Slowly or it else I found out it would just go in a straight line. First time I try it.
