Well after the slot shop the bench looked empty so I started this one. Getting it ready for the paint booth. Still have to add all of the windows, and doors yet. BTW this thing is huge.

Recently I made a trade for a load of HO scale fire trucks, so needed a new headquarters for them The ones I have now are rather dated. This is a 2 part kit as the other part is a maintenance shed, that could be used for any type of building. It is currently in the paint booth in primer. I did the brick in red, and the rest in white to be redone in Light Ivory. The windows, and doors if I use them will be black. Debating about the interior for it yet, as I don't know how much detail I will add to it. Definitely have to have the pole though from the 2nd floor.

Very good design on the building. The possibly dayed fire engines, aren't that much as they don't evolve that much and it could be a "past era" dio or just a smaller city that buys engines second hand. I wonder if the building could be changed to look right for 1/25. Probably not easy though. Thanx!

Great dio Merc! Don't worry about the rigs, you can change those as you see fit. The tower ladder is fairly modern, could easily be a front line unit on any department. The Mack is a bit older, but made an awesome, and very popular, engine company. Could easily be in use a reserve truck. The trucks have evolved quite a bit over the last 20 -30 years, but at $250,000+ most departments don't replace them when new models come out! In fact, my engine company is a 1999 model with around 100,000 miles on it. We even have 2 training / reserves that date back to 1986! The sad part is one of those two was the first truck I was assigned to. Really makes me feel like an old head!

Dave I also have these. I figure between the 3 fire halls I got I should be able to equip them fairly well.

I worked a very small vollie company and we had a Mack as our first out unit even after we picked up a HME. The new engine spent more time up at HME than it did in-service the first year or so. If you wanted to "un-date" the scenario a bit, you could claim the department as a joint municipal building. Fire Dept on bay door side, and put a "Police Parking Only" on the street side door. Would be almost identical to a couple of government "centers" I've seen.

Finally got the windows installed, and am now working on the interior. Got the second floor cut to fit, but have a lot to do yet before it will be attached. Have to make a field trip to our local Dept. to check it out for the main office, and other areas.

Currently this is what is done. First front, and rear shots. Next is the floor bracing start, and the office mock up. Then the 2nd floor. I see that I have some repainting yet to do again, along with a lot of other things yet.

Well I did get some model time in theis weekend. Here is what I got done today. The first pic is the before. Notice the walls are bare. I cut some brick sheet to fit them. Then added some more floor joists to support the 2nd floor. May not be the most work done, but between cooking, and stuff I got a little done. Still have to work on the office area yet, and the stairway to the 2nd floor, and the pole.

This is looking good. Nice job on the stairs. I like the LEGO gluing jig. Cool idea. Have to some more safety railings on the stairs yet. The gluing jig I have to credit Dave in the Hat for. He uses it, and put me onto it. Just wait more details yet to come.

Adding some more details. The office is taking shape. Started on kitchen stuff, table, and a fridge. Also needed a TV for relaxation time. Anyone know what's playing? And finally in case a call comes in the turnout gear locker.

Well as the edit on the title says this project is going on hold for a while. I'm getting that burned out feeling so best to put it aside, and do something else.

Finally got back to this one. Side Door is for the Para medics. This is a Matchbox vehicle close to scale. Added a bush to cover a area that was lacking. Looks like a call out is in progress also. Got the office manned also.
