I bought a Ross Gibson resin engine for my CBP build and for over $25 it's not the best resin kit that I've bought. I must say that it does have quite a few parts and a lot of detail but it took a lot of prep and clean-up to be presentable. I'm sure the occassion will come when I'll have to purchase another as there are not many aftermarket engines out there. I just hope the next one will be better. Alex.

I here that all of them are that way Alex. He does offer engines that you can't find anywhere else. His new Pro Mod engines are way cool.

I must admit the engine came out quite well. After clean up the RGE product is a very fine kit and as you said they can't be found elsewhere. I'll post pics of the complete engine once I complete my CBP build. Alex.

Everything you see except the sparkplug wires came with the kit. It also came with wire looms, a fuel pump, assorted linkage pieces and black tape for the drive belt.
Alex.

I have corresponded with Mr. Gibson (actually Ross is a good friend of mine) and have asked him why his kits don't have as much detail as some would like? His answer was a simple one. When he started making this kits, years (actually decades) ago he was striving to put together a product that almost anyone could build. What I can't understand is when some modelers complain about his or other's work. Most of you guys (and gals) are at or are approaching level 5 building status. I don't know of any kit, resin or plastic, that does not need some type of prep work. There is always going to be flashing, mold released residue, whatever and most of the reputable manufacturers will state this in the instructions. I've heard some complain that the heads and engine block decks don't match on Ross' kits. Pish/posh, get out your file or sanding sticks or sand paper (your mill if you have one) and square them up. You should see what has to be done to a real block and set of heads before they are put together. BTW.....you are about to be wowed by Ross and I in the very near future...you want more detail, well we are going to detail you into insanity. Chris. TEM

In no way was I downing Ross Gibson's products. The last time I checked, this section was called KIT REVIEW and I reviewed MY particular kit truthfully and accurately. MY particular kit was not the greatest in the world and I feel I know enough about resin kits since I've been using them for years. In this section I've reviewed several kits and stated only the fact. As far as kits are concerned to me, Ross Gibson products are judged no differently than any other manufactures products that I buy, be it Jimmy Flintstone, Competition Resins, A/FX, PSF Hobby. The list goes on. I grade them as I see them. I've had good, bad and everything in between, period. Alex.

Alex. I re-read my post and I came across a little too strongly. I wish to apologize to you and the rest of the members of this group. I guess I'm a little biased because Ross is a friend of mine. I can assure you that it won't happen again. Chris. TEM

I'm going to use his Chevy Super Speedway Nascar SB1 engine, I have seen alot worse, but from what I have read, he hit his target of making ti so everyone could build it.
