As with just about any other website and message forum on the web, we have some rules we hope everyone here abides by. Please take a few minutes and read through these simple guidelines to avoid any problems later on down the road.
1. First and foremost, please refrain from using profanity and rude language on the forum. TMM's desire is for this site to be family oriented. We do not want children or minors subjected to vulgar language and cursing here. TMM's goal is for this forum to be a place where people of all ages can go and discuss their passion for this hobby without fear of wondering what rude or vulgar language they'll have to endure.
2. R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!!! It's a simple rule, but one we all need to be reminded of once in awhile, myself included. We all build different models and have different tastes when it comes to modeling. Please be respectful of other's tastes and opinions as well. Everyone has an opinion, but there are different ways to voice them. Not everyone is into NASCAR models, just like not everyone is into Tuners. Acceptance though is a must for everyone. Let's appreciate the effort and completion of the model, regardless of the subject and acknowledge the effort put forth by our fellow modelers.
3. Posting Pictures - By all means, post pics of your projects and progress as well as your completed projects!!! Posting pictures serves to inspire fellow modelers. All of us at some point get burned out from building. Who knows, a picture of a certain subject may inspire another modeler to jump back in and start gluing away. There is also the distinct possibility someone just visiting the site may see a model that brings back fond childhood memories and they may once again start building models.
4. Buying, Selling, & Trading Policies - This issue needs to be addressed to avoid any problems in the future. I am going to start by saying that TMM will not be held responsible for a transaction gone bad. Also, the administrator will not act as mediators in any transactions gone sour. People entering into a transaction are doing so of their own free will. With that being said, let me stress that neither TMM nor the administrator of this forum will tolerate deliberate ripping off on this site. If you enter into a transaction, it is expected you have the intention of carrying through. Do not commit to buy or trade an item if you are not sure you want to complete the transaction. If you are selling an item, be honest in your description of what you are trying to sell or trade. If the kit is not complete, state that before someone commits to buy something that is not what they were anticipating. Speaking from personal experience, there is nothing more frustrating than buying something and having it be misrepresented and you end up with nothing but hard feelings and headaches. Again, be honest and have integrity when conducting transactions. There is no worse reputation to get than someone who rips people off or does not follow through with a transaction. Once that reputation has been achieved, it is virtually impossible to undo the damage. Finally, if anyone here is found to be deliberately trying to take advantage of other people or rip them of by dealing maliciously, the administrator WILL ban you permanently. We sincerely hope nothing like that happens here, but we will not hesitate to protect the members of this community from malicious dealings.
5. Finally, this hobby is about FUN! TMM's main desire is for everyone here to enjoy themselves and have fun with the hobby. Don't worry about the quality of your work or even the quantity. Build for yourself and your enjoyment. That's what it's all about, right?
6. This rule goes into affect on July 5, 2006. If you join and do not post an ntroduction within 1 week you will be deleted. If you don't take the time to introduce yourself then more than likely you will not be involved on TMM. This board is here for enjoyment and that means all members need to be involved.
7. No bad mouthing anyone, any other model forum or any other website. If you got ripped off by a company then please let us know, but please do not post on here and totally trash the company.
8. Failure to follow any or all of these rules will result in termination of your account.
