.............the safety chains on Gator's trailer pulling up outside. Yep, it's him alright with a very special Christmas present for me. I wonder if anyone can tell me why this particular Mopar driver would be so special to a dyed in the wool Ford fan like me?

Another excellent build from you, Mr. Mitchum! As far as your question, I`m assuming its because Buddy Arrington got hooked up with Bill Elliott driving a Ford for his last couple of years. Thats all I can think of.

Thanks guys but it goes back a ways farther than that. Back around the mid '70's Buddy got himself hemmed up and detained by the PO-lice while driving a Dodge Charger with a very highly tuned hemi engine and various other such goodies that gave it a top speed of over 150 mph. Now I know that with the new Mustangs, Vipers and such that 150 mph isn't exactly news these days. But even now I think those cars would have a terrible time putting those kind of number on the speedometer while hauling as many gallons of non-tax paid homebrew that Buddy was carrying, not to mention finding a place to stash it in the car. Today he remains the last front line Nascar driver caught hauling whiskey in the time honored tradition of his predecesors.
