this is "Timmy" .............. my 1948 English Ford Thames 1/4 ct panel van .............. he is currently undergoing a total rebuild, so the "completed" pictures are before he went into the shop
This is Don Maynard's old NHRA A/G drag car which raced back in the '60's and '70's ............ I acquired him in 1998 and have been saving since then for his re-build ............. all those years of hard launches had done some major damage to the chassis ......... it was bent like a banana
so, he is getting a totally new chassis custom built by Fatman Fabrications in Charlotte, NC ............. 90" wheelbase, Mustang II front suspension with polished tubular A-arms and rack and pinion steering, four link rear suspension holding a 9" Ford rear with 3.55:1 ratio
we're going through the engine also ............ started out as a simple little 300 horse 327 out of a '66 Nova .............. he will be getting a new 270 degree Competition Cam and kit, new MSD ignition and a 2500 rpm stall speed converter for the TurboHydro 350 transmission ............. since street intimidation is the name of the game, he will also receive a set of injectors built by Alan Shadwick ........... those ram tubes will be sticking through his hood
He'll also get a new set of chrome plated wheelie bars and a new Simpson "Skyjacker" drag chute ............. haven't settled on a paint color yet, and the interior will be tailored to match the paint
