Are you using metalizers ? Looks great. I did body work on my bug,and have apinted it 3 times. Having weird issues. I have never done a gunze kit,the styrene is freaking out with the mild testors paints? I could see a really hot paint, but testors? And I primered as usual. I stripped it in brake fluid and the body cracked as if I tried to pull it apart. WE'll see? Doug R

Looks like some cool builds for this CBP.
Doug I am using Tamiya paints. What ever the kit direction says to use is what I'm using.
Lee glad to have you in this CBP.

I just did the body for this gunze sangyo 56 beetle and mocked it up. This is my 4th paint and strip job, also the body cracked. Gunze has some wierd plastic. I was able to rescue it,but it almost went in the trash.LOL! I do not have the chassis done so the rear has way to much camber. It will sit as low as possible and will have a similar rear camber look. It's only a curb side. Hope to have chassis done this weekend. Doug R

Doug, Your Beetle is looking great! I've always liked that kit. I built one a couple of years ago, a replica of the car my brother drove in high school. My convert is made by IMAI, date on it is 1983. I got it and it's sedan counterpart a couple years ago on eBay. Only Super Beetle kits I've ever seen! Chassis detail is crappy, because it was made to have electric lights and motor, but the rest of the car is well detailed, even has an up-top, which I plan to use. I may leave the top loose, so I can switch back and forth between the top and the boot. Plans are for a modified street machine, more or less from the current era.

Well, here are some progress shots! I was able to find a more detailed chassis and nice custom interior from a die-cast VW. I had to do a little modification, but nothing difficult. I still need to widen the track a bit to fill out the wheel wells. Interior side panels and dash will come from the original kit. Lee

Thanks for the compliments! Doug, You're close! Actually I took the parts from the Maisto Type 3 Notchback. I wanted to build the Notch more stock anyway, so I'll just trade the parts.

I finally got started on my Beamer. I figure black with a grey interior should look nice. Going to run over to Hobbytown USA in a while to find some purty wheels for it. Fabricated a spoiler from sheet styrene.

Dishes are done man. This is the fastest I have done a build in awhile and it probably shows.LOL! I love the way this came out overall. No real detail, but I like it anyway. It is going to inspire a fully detailed tamiya build from me. Hope you like it. Doug R

LOL! Mee too. I had a killer 63 sliding rag back in 1985. Just after I sold it,Hot VW's took pictures of it. I don't know if they ever put it in a mag though. I have always wanted another, but got into other projects. Doug R
