Probably my favorite Chevy of all is a 61 Impala. Back when I was 16, I bought a rough one with the intention of building a hot rod. It had a 348, but I was planning on a 454 4 spd. I never got around to building it, and ended up selling it to a friend. I think I`m going to build this model as the car I wanted to build back then. Nothing special, just a 70s era street machine.....just like I woulda done it then!

What a coincedence, Bobby...I`m going to use the engine from that same Chevelle kit in my 61! I got the engine assembled, will probably get it painted today.

Here's the kit I got from Yelo, The Lindberg '48 Lincoln Continental. Thanks, Yelo! Here's the body! I was afraid of how this was going to work! Once I built the body and chassis together, it turned out better than I thought it would! A little filler and it won't be half bad! The worst parts of the kit are the engine, and the wheels/tires. I'll be going through my junk boxes to see what I can find to replace those. I'm not sure whether I'll be going stock, or street rod, but I'm leaning toward the rod. The ultimate fat-fendered Lincoln! Lee

I got the AMT '69 Chevelle 396 SS. Ironic because the '69 is my favorite of all of the Chevelle's and everyone here knows how I feel about Chevy's... I just wonder if that 396 is big enough? I may have to look in the parts box. Alex.

I may have to hold off on mine . The body is really tweaked. I will have to strap it to a block of wood and heat it.. Doug

My Lincoln has wheels! While I was scrounging parts for the engine out of the Viper kit, I thought I'd try the wheels and tires. They are a perfect fit, and look decent to boot! (I think!). The body is nearly ready to prime, except I have some work to do with the fit of the hood. I put it on wheels to check the stance, I like the front, but I may need to lower the rear a little. Lee

I have managed to get a little work done on my 61. The real one I was going to build in the 70s was going to be black with a red tuck and roll interior, and a 454 engine. I sanded the seats and door panels smooth and covered them with Evergreen styrene to give it that tuck and roll look.
