I guess I will throw my hat in...1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt. Should be fun. First, contest I have ever entered. Will have to wait a little bit though. Weather has to warm up a little bit first before I can start. Do all my Major painting outside. (Body, Chassis, interior.) But I will let you know when the progress starts and hopefully I will be done by June 1st!!

Is it allowed to use aftermarket-decals for the gauges?

According to IPMS/USA box stock rules, yes, aftermarket decals/dry transfers are allowed. I`ve done a little work on mine, just other have priorities at the moment. I hope to have enough for some pics soon.
