I buy pre wired dist. You can find how the firing order is in some books. If all else fails find pics of the engine you are wiring.

kaqbot, Here`s a little something you can try, Group together nine pcs. of spark plug wire and measure it. Then take a drill bit the same size as the grouped wires, drill a hole in the center of the dist. cap and insert the wires. Makes a pretty good rendition of a drilled cap.

Thats a pretty good tip Ron. The engine is the area I have the most problems in. I just used my first wired distributor on a build and I like the looks. I am a Do-It-Yourself kind of person so I don't buy much stuff. I get more satisfaction out of making everything my.

One technique i used on my last build is using aluminum tubing. I use a smaller diameter tube cut about a half inch and inserted 9 pcs of spark pluge wire as mentioned previously. then I cut a larger diameter piece appoximately 1/8" and glued it (ca) around the part of the tubing with the wire. After comeplete the shaft can be cut to desired length. Alex.  |

I know this iz a bit tardy, but then in Hi School I perfected tha art of just getting to class before tha Tardy Bell.
