I ordered a bottle of that Alcad II chrome paint because I keep hearing so much about it. Problem is that I really don't understand it. Is it strictly an airbrush type of paint, or can it be applied by brush? Must it have a gloss black undercoat to make it work properly? I shook it up, and then applied by brush, a small amount of it to and area on scratch plastic that had a flat black background as well as a gloss black background. It does not apply very well, at least for me. It seems more like a wash. Did I miss something? I know that as smart and talented as you guys and gals are, that you could steer me in the right direction. Thanx in advance.

Snack, First you need to lay down a base of gloss black, testors is fine, then you mist it on in very light coats with a airbrush. Just have toi play around with it to get the shade you want and I have buffed it with a very soft cloth afterwards. VERY light pressue if you buff. I use a lot of different Alcad metal colors on my builds and have had very good luck with them, all air brushed though.

One thing to add.. the smoother the base (no sanding scratches or such) and the smoother the paint the better the Alclad comes out. Also the chromes sheen comes up better as it dries. Paul
