This is number 2 of 3 of the Towasaurus fleet ( number 3 is on the design board yet ) Truck is combined from 3 kits, Revell W-900 wrecker ( wrecker body, frame, cab, engine ) Auslowes C500T conversion kit ( hood, 1/2 fenders, height extentions ) & Italeri wrecker ( front bumper ) I was going to just make a fifth wheel truck using the conversion, but saw the potential for a wrecker. No frame changing here--it lined up perfect. The resin hood had a non-chrome grill, since I don't have alclad, I went to the parts box & got a chromed one. The hood, being Aussie design, is set higher up by means of spacers on the hinges. Aussie also means 4 bulb round headlights. I cut out the light wells & replaced with rectangle ( from the parts box ) Insulation & fender flares finished out the hood. The bumper had the back side filled in & treadplate added. Also nice place for some air horns. The cab had a walk-in sleeper opening that you were suppose to use a LARGE whatever to fill it in, I used a clear sheet over the whole back then cut out the window & trimmed it. To update the doors, the windows were cut down on a angle. Inside is kit stock. Space between cab/wrecker has a wire cage with "balsa wood" 4x4's. Wrecker body built as per instructions***just as before***with bare metal foil used on deck. Cat engine was plumbed & exhaust re-routed. Rubber float tires are from Clint Freeman. Fuel tanks found in parts box ( it's a big box ) cut down to fit, aluminum paint, & shoe brush added. Lettering on rear tires done by--gel pen ( it does have to dry overnight before touching ) Light bar by Dave Panak, rubber mudflaps ( made from valve diaphragm material ) hand drawn stickers, custom license plate--T-REX-2 & some odds and ends on the rear deck.
