This kit was HUGE (at 1/24 scale) and very lacking in detail. Purchased in '94 for $65.00 new. What you get is the body(with optional opening side & upper deck cabinets, 3 foam guns & emergency lighting ) a 3 piece no detail engine block, exhaust muffler/stacks and air intakes, frame (with not so bad detail), 2 rear axles, 2 front twin-steering axles, 8 nice rims/wheels, interior (not so bad detail),dash, bench seats, working folding bi doors & full body decals for 2 major airports in Germany.
Going to the library, I got some info on my subject (a book on airport fire trucks--a kiddie book---lots of pictures---you gotta do what you gotta do) From there, I started adding detail--the 12- cylinder diesel got wiring, external details, well-worn exhaust---all compartments got items put inside, fans put in radiator & pump diesel outlets---interior got new seats, shifter, & safety gear---frame and running gear got some wiring and weathering---foam guns detailed---chooses Frankfurt (over Munich) decals due to paint scheme more colorfully.
