This first truck, the M.A.N. TG-A, is Italeri's first "new tool" and cheaper kit. What this means is they cut back on parts --only bottom of engine/transmission is there and if it mounts on the frame, it's molded ON the frame as one piece (fuel tanks, battery, fenders, steps, cross members) First I cut all items off the frame and put the body together (you can put all 4 sides & roof together and paint it and then assemble the interior and stuff it up inside) Paint is a yellow muster with 6 coats of clear followed by Treatment wax. Going to the parts box, I found an old M.A.N. engine. I cut it in half, put the upper part on the kits bottom part, did a little detail on it. The interior got a little detail (carpeting, seat belts, mattress) then slid up into the body. The air intake on the body had dimples not holes, so I had to drill them all out. The frame was painted and all items that were removed was re-assembled, new exhaust tip added, wiring and very little weathering was also added. The cab/frame did not have tilting hinges, and because I didn't do much to the underneath, I did not worry about it showing off the diesel--you can peek under the wheel wells or rear cab mount to see it. A 4-lamp driving light bar, real rubber flaps, and few decals finishes it off. More pictures at my PhotoBucket site-- s58.photobucket.com/albums/g250/KWTRUCK/MAN%20TG-A/

Looks good as usual Dave. Your detail work really sets your builds apart.
