This has been on the drawing board for over 2 years. There are 2 chemical plants in this area, and this trailers are very common. I did a fire inspection at 1 of the transportation terminal, and decided this was the time to do this build. I got permission, special thanks to Big Mike at Slay transportation for allowing me to climb all over their trailers, and photograph the crazy out of their stuff. I already had a AMT tanker kit just for this idea. I started by determining the size/length. Using a web site called Scale Calculator, I got that part out of the way, 44' real = 22" scale. The closest size for the tanker was a 2" PCV pipe ( who's gonna know the different ) Using the kits end caps, I glued them on & cut/sanded them down. The kit frame was assembled, put under the tube, and marks made for the ribs. Once the ribs where glued & dried, I dissected the frame, fitting each part into the ribs. I'm working each part as it's own sub-assembly, test fitting lots of times. What you see so far took about a couple of hours, for 4 weekends. ---KW Truck---

My Dad used to pull chemical tanks back in the sixties. I've often thought of doing something similar to what you're doing. Nice to see how it comes together!

My apologizes to all those wishing to see an update--I've been so involved at work and house duties, that I haven't had any time to sit and model. With the cold coming, the outside chores will decrease ( but not at work ) and I should get back to modelling 'round the end of the year. Thanks for the concern. ---Dave---
