Dan, Your work is excellent!! Because you have built this truck as a beater per say or an old delapitated truck. I dont think it really matters where you locate the coil. Its not like it has to be factory correct, In the condition that it is in would indicate it has possibly been through a couple of owners and many changes could have occurred. I would suggest that the coil could be located on the block or the firewall or even an inner fender firewall- The battery can be located on the Radiator support or on one of the the inner fenders
