Whilst perusing tha web looking for ref info for another modeler I found this website concerning a Hotrod Icon. This iz tha only surviving example (called tha Camera Car) of one of tha Baddest '55 Chubbys ever built! For tha complete story and lots more pics, check out this link.www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Garage/4602/

a2race, ifn yu read tha info on that website yu'll find out that tha wreck scene in American Graphitti waz actually filmed for tha end sequence for 2-Lane Blacktop. Tha original ending for tha Blacktop movie waz supposed to be a wreckord, but waz changed in tha editing room to James Taylor drag racing into tha Sunset........ Tha Guy who built tha 55 Chubby actually built 3 Chubbys, tha "actor" Chubby, an identical "camera car"...for interior scenes and a stock chassis 55 for tha wreck scene, which they wrecked...next time yu see American Graphitti, pay close attention to tha underside front-end view.....yu'll see "lower A-frames". And notice that during tha wreck scene...yu only see tha dirty side...not tha roll-over from start to finish.
