I am glad you posted this build.
I have your fotki album in my favorites and have been watching for this to resurface.
Very cool bug eye.
Let us know when those wheels are available would ya?
Did you do a narrower front type wheel as well Bill?
I always thought those susburbanite tires would be great baja fronts .

Those are the sweet brake drums I was telling you about.
They allow you to make your own wide 5 centerlines.

Bill, I was thinking of doing an off road vw or vw CBP here. Maybe you could finish this one for that. I want to start another off roader and thought it would be a great time for all of us to share our ideas and techniques. Doug R thanks guys, sorry i have not posted any updates as I have been pretty busy with personal stuff & I had to pack up all my model stuff. Hope to have some updates soon as I am itchin to build. That is too bad you have lost interest, but you are not alone. Maybe something like a kit swap would be doable. Though I am not interested, I am sure there is someone that might have a kit they are tired of that they would trade.

I have just started modeling again after a very long time and picked a Baja truck as my first. I really love these beasts. What are you building? Just Bugs? I would love to see photos.

Jump back in and start posting what you build!
I build customs/street rods, but have focused on various VW models as I have so little time to build and those are my favorites as I have restored a few real VW's.
