Update on the resin T3 Notch. I do not like the way the paint came out , i will respray but probably in white. I touched up the side door window trim just to see how it came out after spending a lot of time using strip styrene. Painted & mounted suspension is on gloss black pan. Decided on my BRM rims that have been cast & alclad, may or may not paint centers black. (check tangtang2 on ebay for these rims). Spent a bunch of time on some 356Porsche bumpers to approximate a T3...close enuf Head & tail lights from a diecast nocth temporarily mounted. thanks for looking. Oh no you did not!! Oh man, that is the holey grail. Sweet!!! I heard Perry's resin was gonna release a resin version, but that was a while ago and I have never heard anything since. Did you master this one Bill? Looks killer with the BRM's. Are those alclad? Doug

thanks. Tapani Rauramo mastered the Notch. Randy at Perry's has a copy and has been working on it, but I do not know if/when he will be ready to release one in the future. He will have to reply. Yes, the rims are alclad, my pics aren't so great as I have a temporary bench/photo area right now. Bill

A notch . . .
No way. I have to have 1 . . . rather, 3 or 4.
The 356 bumpers look pretty good on there. As well as the BRMs. Also, he body lines are terrific. Can't waist to get my hands on a few of these.

Even as a mainly Type 1 and 2 guy......I'd still find room for a notch in my garage if the opportunity arose. Looking very good, mister Bill!

ok, here's an update. I painted in the headliner and was about to mount the photoetch rearview mirror when I noticed the paint cracking in a few spots. Bottom line...too many layers of paint. I decided to strip it completely. After painting it 3 times, I am done. After looking up how to strip tamiya lacquer off of resin, I decided to use blech white whitewall cleaner. It is a little slower but has made good progress in about 6 hours of soaking. I am soaking for 3 hours at a time and then brushing off the loose stuff, then giving it a rest for a couple of days in between so as not to mess up the resin. In another 3 hours I think it will be stripped to the resin base. The soaking has not affected the resin in any way. after 3 hours: after 6 hrs: **NOTE** If you know a resin caster that may want to resin cast this notchback, please have them email me at empinut@aol.com. I will release the body & finished chassis/interior/bumpers/head& taillights for a fixed price + 2 repops. I will clean the body up to bare resin and remount the window weatherstripping. I will not be priming or painting it. If I do not hear directly from any resin caster, I will place it on ebay and see what happens. thanks, Bill
