Looking great John. Are those headlight bucket decals "standard" in the Porsche kit? I've got 4 of these kits but never built one. Thank you and yes sir! When the bucket is installed the decals on the body will look like they "splashed" down into the bucket. I painted the bulb and the three bolt/screw heads on the lens.

Great attention to detail John. Definite showstopper you have going on here.

Here is a little update on the Porsche.......... They don't tell you to paint several things until you look at the decal instructions (a completely seperate sheet). The front cowl and the B- pillars for instance. Also the entire windshield frame. I ended up brush painting the B-pillars. Not sure what I'm going to do about the cowl I am NOT painting the windshield frame. I've got the windshield and the two decals on. It plainly shows on the box art that they are black. I guess I'm a dipstick Oh yeah, the entire rear cowl has taken a bath in the Purple Pond and after that didn't do the trick it is now in brake fluid It was going too smoothly I guess. Too bad it all went sour so close to the end.

It looks great to me John. I think you do some of the best detail painting I ever saw, so I don't think you'll have any problem getting that frame around the windshield painted.

About half way done with the decals. If you do not like decaling this is NOT the kit for you . I have most of the passenger side to do and all of the rear cowl. I'm not sure how many hours this has taken.....I should have kept track . Some of them are two layers. Lay the base down and then another over the top. Lots of compound curves! Using Micro Sol and Set. Had to slit a few of them to get them to lay down. Great decals IMHO.

Maaaannn!!! Serious decal work. Fantastic detail. I only have one car like this one and I only have it about half way done so far. Thank goodness mine doesn't have decals like yours. Please keep us posted. Great job so far.

Good and bad news. Good news - she's done. Bad news - the rear cowl just doesn't sit on the chassis perfectly . I would display it with the rear cowl off to show off the engine anyhow, but it still bugs me that it doesn't fit. I will post pics first thing in the morning.

Very nice John. Can't wait to see this one in person so I can check out your detail painting. Have you discovered what is stoping the rear cowl from fitting?

Very nice John. Can't wait to see this one in person so I can check out your detail painting. Have you discovered what is stoping the rear cowl from fitting? Thanks for the comments guys, I appreciate them . Gary, I think I have two problems. When I pulled the chassis pan out of the box there was a slight twist in it at the rear. I thought I had it straightened out. Upon some of the final test fitting I found the body shell did not want to set down on the drivers side. Also the body shell hits the rear bulkhead/roll cage. Tamiya has such tight tolerances that if something is off just a little it can really mess things up. If I get the tabs at the front of the rear cowl to slide under the rear of the main body it will pop off the back. John - no I don't think I will make it to Cookeville
