Great question John. I think a lot of modelers might like to hear this answer. First off, here is the nut and bolt detail on the headers that John is talking about. These were accomplished using Grandt Line HO scale bolt details available in the train department of you local well stocked Hobby Shop. For $3.00 you will get about 60 to 75 bolt details. Available in grey and black. Another way would be to use photo-etch items available from Model Car Garage, Scale Motorsports and Replica & Miniatures Co. of Maryland as shown here. $6.00 will get you a couple hundred nuts. Finally is a new product I came across from Adlers Nest available through Hobby Link Japan. These are machined Brass or Stainless Steel items and look great. They are a bit on the expensive side running about $12.00 for about 45 pieces, but they are sweet. And there you have it. If I can be of any further assistance guys, just rattle my cage. Thanks .... Gary K.

I agree with Bobby. Every model club meeting is like a mini hobby expo. Gary is always bringing in the latest & greatest gadgets, tools, models, etc. I wonder if his wife knows.....lol

Gary, Thanks much for the resources. I had just recently heard of the Grandt Line stuff, surprisingly but the LHS (though they did not sell it anymore). It looks to be exactly what I was thinking. I will hit Google. Thanks again, John

I found another site that has scale hardware. They have bolts, nuts, simulated bolts and nuts (no threads). All in brass or stainless, either can be nickel plated. They have square head, hex head nuts and bolts, carriage bolts, rivets, washers, and tools to install them (for the threaded ones) www.scalehardware.com/

Well, the part numbers for the Grant Line items are 5235 for the hex nut/bolt and 5046 for the square. As far as a source, mine came from a local Hobby Shop over 4 years ago. Check with a good train hobby shop and you will probably find what you need. Hope this helped.
