My son Cooper asked me to post one of his models for everyone to see. He built it at 5 and a half years old with almost no help from Daddy. The "paint" was created by colored permanent markers and left over decals. You gotta admit, you haven't seen an exterior treatment like that unique in a while! I had to Google the Partridge Family bus to show him. John and Cooper p.s. I could really use some suggestions for glues that kids can use.

I used to see cars painted like this at the demolition derby. No kidding. We might all learn a little from Cooper. On the subject of glues that kids can use, I started out with snap kits on my 2 girls and slowly progressed to the non-toxic testors in the blue tube. Wrong! This glue took to long to dry and you know how long you can keep a child's attention. .... there it goes! Stick with the snap kits and then progress to Super Glue and kicker with lots of adult supervision. The results are instant and Cooper won't get bored waiting for glue to dry. Remember the lots of adult supervision when it comes to super glues and store them securely away when your not around!

Thanks all for the kind words. Cooper was so excited! And it also turned into a learning experience... made me show him where West Virginia was located on the map.
Yes, the snap-togethers are perfect. He had a good time building the 1/32 Camaro in the parking lot of Home Depot while I loaded wood in the back of my truck. I jumped in and he said "Time to put on the decals Daddy". Too bad there are not many choices. He would spend every allowance on a kit if they made a few trucks and modern cars... the "cool" cars of his day. John

You have got to post and share some of these photos with the members on this site. Most members have probably not gotten into your signature to check this build out. A few photos will be enough to entice them. I was hooked after I saw the first few. I love the battery terminals and the photo of your decal layout. Nice work!
Check it out guys!

Check it out guys! Thanks Gary. I was trying get it done before posting. Since finding tires has been a real problem, I didn't want to post the WIP and have potentially have months go by before showing the finished truck. I now have made/found a tire and wheel I will be using to cast the 5 needed. It shouldn't be much longer. I am not sure if I posted info about the battery terminals before but in case I didn't they are teeth from a broken zipper. John
