1:43 Heller Lotus F1 - Finished

This is a project I have been working on in between other models. The real reason for this post is I am using the photo booth that I received for my b-day. The Lotus was on my bench at the time. I need to experiment with where to place the lights, etc.

No, had to borrow my son's camera. A digital camera is on my list. So is a new laptop, big screen TV..........

Are you kidding.....lol, I've said it before, I like your pics as much as your models. Your outdoor shots are some of the best on this board!

Did a little work on the Lotus. Will try to fill as many seams as I can. The seams are huge in 1:43 scale.







I went to put on the tire decals and noticed that the clear was there but there was no name on the clear. No Goodyear, no Dunlop, nothing? I tried two decals...nothing but clear!



I will use Tamiya TS34 - Camel Yellow on the body. I do like Tamiya spray paint. I've had good luck with it so far. (Yeah Bobby, I do paint models!)

Have been working on this on and off. It is a fun little kit. I'm not getting too bogged down on perfection ;D. I shot Tamiya TS34, Camel Yellow, on it. Came out pretty good. The paint is glossier than the pics show. The driver was painted with the paint supplied in the kit. Actually, the paint was not too bad. Since the pics were taken I've painted the suspension semi-gloss black and have decaled the wing. So far no problems with the decals.

Thanks Will! The photo box came from Micro Mark. My wife was looking for Christmas ideas and I had mentioned that I liked the idea of the photo box. She also got me the other "background" which is black/white. The one that came with it is blue/grey. I will try to remember to bring it to this month's meeting. Unfortunately I have already had a bulb blow. It is a specialty bulb. Found one locally with the same base type, (GU), but different "filter". You can see the difference in some of the pics, (especially the Ferrari F1 - 24 hour build).

I will post more pics in the next day or two. The suspension is painted and I have started to decal it.

Finished up this little kit today. OOB build. It is another 3 footer. I did not detail paint everything that could have been. After it was done I realized that I did not paint the engine block. They way it is molded it is hard to tell what / where the engine block is. Decals are not the best but laid down fairly well. No compound curves to worry about. As stated earlier, there was only clear on the tire decals. No lettering at all . Hope you like it. It's not one you would normally see but I like trying different things. Let me know what you think!

Geez Bobby, that only took you 4 minutes to reply (and bust on me.....lol). Yea, maybe I'll be the "F1 guy" in the club. I do like decals! This one had some very small ones.

Thats neat John. I like the way it turned out. 1/43 does seem really small. Glad you're a patient man.
