right before the demise of the class in the early '70's, a few brave souls tried the rear engine twins ............. with limited success This build combines two Jeb Allen kits to create a mythical twin engine gas dragster ............. one of the last great dinosaurs

that's a very accurate replica of those hybrids of the day. it always seemed odd that it took awhile for people to realise that carrying around another engine was actually defeating the speed by the extra weight. i believe there was a bunch of physics involved that goes over my head, but i always liked them anyway. what was interesting they had been doing twins from the real early days on the lakes to the late 70's early 80's at the drags.

looks great...
can you just imagine how much work was involved with maintaining two engines. Wonder if they rebuilt those as often as do with the present day engines..
