Once again very cool. I dig this alot but I'm still not sure what they actually "do". I'm assuming it's some type of firefighting vehicle. It's cool and very well built. Can you give me some background info on the vehicle type? Thank you.

Can you give me some background info on the vehicle type? Thank you. Sure. We have over 50,000 acres of Pine Barrens (scrub pine) with limited dirt fire access roads. These are fire trucks built from ex military trucks, to access the area on narrow fire roads or no roads. The cage is more of a tree limb deflector than a roll cage. Here is an immage of a few real ones. Paul

Is there a company that builds these "cages" or is each one a custom fit/build by a lowest cost contractor?

Thanks so much for that info. It may sound silly but I always like to picture a model in a real life scenario. In my mind maybe it helps with realism or something. Now I can see why you wanted to build it. That thing is super tuff. I think I want a giant ex-military truck with an exo-cage to crash into trees. ;D ;D ;D

Is there a company that builds these "cages" or is each one a custom fit/build by a lowest cost contractor? The second truck (red & aluminum) is in front of the company that builds them. Each truck is custom built to each departments specs. Here is a link to one local company. Paul chivvisent.com/
