I haven't built model cars for too many years to say. Built them as a kid and then ? lost interest. Have always been into building 1=1 cars and continue that hobby thru street rod interests. OK , to the point. My buddy bought me a 1/12th scale 69 Camaro kit by Monogram. I've had it several years on the shelf. I joined this BB and now have the urge to build this kit. However , I want to build it as a Pro Street car which isn't an option with the kit. Having expeience building 1=1 cars, I want to build the frame from either brass tubing or sheet metal formed and welded to shape and size. Has anyone tried this concept ? I need advice if so so as to eliminate unessassary expeimenting. Thx, Gonzo

Well I have not had too much experience with 1/12 scale models, but I do have some plans on the drawing board. I have however worked a little with brass and can say what your hoping for is possible. K&S and Special Shapes, makes lots of brass in all kind of shapes and sizes. It solders great and is very strong. You can check out a 300ZX Ive been working on forever that has an entire brass frame from scratch. Maybe someday I'll finish it. public.fotki.com/gkulchock/all-my-modeling-rel/my-in-progress-mode/300zx_pro_street/
