Here's a little something I've been fooling around with in my spare time. I'm converting a NART Ferrari in to a street car. Side scoops were filled and the entire body was given a much needed smoothing. The front bumper on this Arii/Imex kit stinks so I've replaced it with a front bumper from a Italari Ferrari 288 GTO.The rear tail-light section was replaced with the tail-light panel from an Italari Ferrari Testarossa.

Great start Gary. I'm always amazed how you can take parts and pieces from other cars and blend them seamlessly into the model you're working on. Here is a question for you. In the above pics it looks like there are some very big / deep sanding lines. What do you do to get such smooth paint? Do you sand down or polish out the whole body?

In the above pics it looks like there are some very big / deep sanding lines. What do you do to get such smooth paint? Do you sand down or polish out the whole body? The deep sanding lines are from the Coarse to Medium sanding sticks (I get mine at Sallys) used to get the basic shape I'm after. These deep scratches will be removed when I do final block sanding with finer cloths and then the first coat of primer will fill a lot of the finer ones. Yes the entire body is sanded down to get everything even and to give the plastic some roughness for the primer and paint to bite into.

Very cool project Gary. I agree with John. Your added parts always look so flawless. You need do do a tutorial on that.

Cool project Gary, any updates on it? None to speak of. I've been trying to get my Rat Vega and Koenig Mercedes ready for the NNL East. Too many projects, ....... never enough time. ... and speaking of time: [glow=red,2,300]Detail Master, FYI:[/glow] I can tell you that all the artwork for the 4-link suspension brackets has been sent to Detail Master for etching. As soon as I get the OK from Shiryl at Detail Master, I'll share the images with you all. Start planning that Pro-Stock or Pro-Street build. They are so sweeeeeeeet.
