I'm trying to turn a Revell 56 Chevy kit into an early sixties Late Model Sportsman. Roll cage, safety features, gas tank, no cell, bumpers, etc, will all be about period correct for 62-64 or so. Tires were still kinda skinny back then so I am using the PPP 5759 Truck tires and the PPP six lug wheels on this one, and I'm trying REAL HARD to get them to fit under the sheet metal WITHOUT hogging out the wheel wells! What a chore! I'm tellin' ya, it's a lot easier to just cut 'em open! But I'm getting there. trial and error on brake/wheel backs, a little thinning on them, a little massaging on the body work, I think I'll make it. Here's an example of what I'm trying to accomplish.I am leaving the chrome trim on where you see it and foiling it! I hate that job! Simple cage, small block chevy, gas tank, no cell, stock wheel wells, some battle scars. Tires and wheels(3 out of 4) from ppp aquired from Fred, groovy paint and my decals coming! This is awesome and captures the look perfectly! I love the little wheel on the LF.....exactly the way they did it! I've been wanting to build a model of the 56 dirt car I raced in the early 70s....you know anybody that can make custom decals? looking forward to seeing this one painted!

Slim another awesome short tracker from you. It looks great man. Tommy go to www.decal-man.com he does custom decals if you have photos. It's a little pricey (about $35 a set I believe) sounds like a lot but if he can match your 1:1 lettering on your car then it seems well worth it to me. And he specializes in short track stuff too.

I sent him a couple of emails last year, but never heard back from him. Is he still in business? Or is he just hard to get in touch with? I'll try again.

I've used some Bullring stuff and they are really nice decals but I didn't know they did custom work?

Looks great! Is that the kit chassis you have modified, or one from something else?

It's the kit chassis and floor boards, kit firewall cut down, and sheet styrene and a scratched cage. Thanks for asking!
