this is a 2-8-8-0 Allegheny class mallet steam engine. Norfolk and Western as well as southern had one of these pulling freight around in the yards for coal. this is normally what i am playing with when i'm not building cars. the steamer is actually 3 engines in one. the boiler is from 2 seperate bachmann HO scale chatanooga choo choo sets, the frames go with the boilers, they were glued together using strangly enough gorilla glue. the cab is from a 0-4-0 switcher engine i had from athearn.
