Just finished ;D An AMT `86 El Camino SS built as a mild Pro Touring/Street Machine. All trim and side markers where removed, I used Pegasus Iroc wheels with parts-box brakes. The rear view mirrors are from an old Monogram Dodge Charger. The seats come from a Monogram Chevy S-10. I reworked the interior with flocking and some scratchbuilt and parts box parts. It is definitely not the best interior I´ve ever built... The windows and all lights are tinted with Tamiya smoke (my first try). I did the chrome trim at the bed and sidewindows with Alclad chrome, because it was easier to mask it than to use BMF. The paint is automotive laquer with some coats of clear over the decals, than sanded with 2000 grid, polished and waxed. The exhaust pipes are polished aluminium tubes. The model looks a little glittering on the pics but thats how the digital eye sees metallic paint I did this as a curbside because the engine bay is not the nicest, as well as the whole thing is not AMT´s best kit ever. I had heavy fitting problems with the dashboard/interior unit, the windows and the chassis... Nevertheless it turned out as a nice model and by the way i´ve built a kit which was one of the oldest in my collection. I hope you like it too...

Nice job on this build. I'd like to get my hands on one of these and see what I come up with.

Wow, I missed this one. Love those El Camino SS's. You did a great job on this one. How hard was the tint to use. Thinking of using it on the Camaro I am working on.

Well I'm pretty new to this forum, so I'm trying to catch up on some of your guys builds. Fantastic build, even for a not so good kit. You caught my attention just cause I love pro-touring style. The I-Rocs look great on there. Paint is superb, and do I see the door panels handle strap? Was that like that or did you add that detail? If your added, I can appreciate those small steps on making an interior look just right. Great build.

Nice work to get this to fit right. I like that high gloss finish. What clear did you use?
