After watching me build so many police cars, one of the guys at my station got me to work on a fire truck. He collects Code3 stuff, and this was a generic rig given to collector club members. So far, I have stripped it, repainted it all red, and am getting ready to work on some decals. I also want to see if I can find a substitute for the hose loads. Anway, here are pics of what I started with:
The tampo printed graphics came right off with non acetone finger nail polish remover, but ended up completely stipping the cab. It even took the paint of the compartment doors in the back without damaging the chrome plating. Used tiny pieces of poster tac to mask the locks, and it worked! Haven't taken pics of the truck since I painted it, but they will be coming soon.
