i had a hard time trying to figure out were to put this. i hope this place is ok. back in the early '60's, when i was a small lad, i was taken by some friends to the sand dunes in glamis. back then there weren't vw or corvairs running the dunes like now. there were some but not many. back then everybody thought horsepower was what would get the job done. most of the time it will but, waterless motors and light weight would eventually win out. most of the dune buggies back then were just car frames with 2 seats and a motor/drive train. some guys got hip and built a little more sophisticated rails like this. what this is all about is, that a friend sold me 4 grooved slicks on rims and i have been thinking about building something like this ever since.

Well this looks like some real fun, and very loud too! Make sure you wear some ear plugs.
I've been playing with a Monogram Sand Crab for the last couple days. Just something to lay a quick paint job on. We'll have to hit the dunes when I finish.
Nice job! ;D

Yea, neat little "toy". I guess we often forget that simpler is so often better. John
