I'm putting this under the Street Rod section because I think that's where the majority of these trailers are going to show up. The teardrop is based on plans found in a September 1947 issue of Mechanix Illustrated. This is another master I'm doing for Jimmy and it should be available at the Toledo NNL on October 3 also. I'm also in the process of building a "twin sister" full detail trailer for myself. All brass frame! Check it out at: public.fotki.com/gkulchock/all-my-modeling-rel/my-in-progress-mode/teardrop-trailer/

A 12 hour modeling Sunday for me. Haven't done this in a while, but look what I got accomplished. The entire chassis for the teardrop. Everything you see here was 100% scratch built from sheet plastic and tubing. A couple more days and it's off to Jimmy for casting. A little different than my full brass chassis.

It's finished, and it's off to Jimmy for casting in the morning. Should be at Toledo for sale on Jimmy's table, but don't hold me to that. I wonder if I can get the first one out of the mold? I also wonder if I can get the first one built and on the table? We'll see ........... ;D

Great Looking Teardrop you've Mastered !! I would like to buy one when they are available. Thanks for the copy of the plans for it too !! It would make a nice 1:1 project. I'm sure Jimmy Flintstone has a "hit" with this one. Cecil

MAN, THAT IS JUST TOO COOL!!! Who did you say is casting these??? I gotta get me one!! I was just looking at a 1:1 a few weeks back. I have always wanted to own one! Talk about nastalgia! I don't believe in owning anything larger than a pop-up for camping. My Grandma was in a camping club while I was growing up and all those ppl that owned the hotels on wheels NEVER came out of their campers. Whats the point in even going camping if you're just gonna stay inside all day?!?!?!?!
Wheeew. Sorry about that little tantrum there. Just hits a nerve somewhere. LOL!!
