Hey guys, I was just wondering if any of you ever sell your built models? Or could you never part with them? It is alot of labor in any build. I was thinking of listing a couple of my desert trucks on Evilbay and a low rider gmc. Just curious,I build them and have no where to put them.LOL!
Thanks for the input. Doug R

I did sell a couple of them, but never really made money with them...
I prefer to keep them now anyway...

The closest I've ever come to 'selling' any of my builds was the time or two when I did them for somebody as a surprise; I never accepted any money for them either, just trades. For example, I got a roof rack for my 1:1 '68 Beetle in trade for this one:

I've had offers but didn't know what to charge. When you take in to account the money spent for detailing parts, paint and etc. and not to mention the time spent they seemed to be worth more than what some were willing to pay.

I listed the first pre runner I ever built last night. It took me forever and it's not perfect, but I need to make room for new builds. I feel weird about selling a couple because I don't know what people expect? Is it cool looking=yes Is it as detailed as Guys like Alex and Manny do=No Is it unique=Yes Is it a decent built that will last=Yes LOL! Manny, I was gonna sell that GMC-LOL It is a curb side with no motor or shocks on it,I had intention of doing so,then moved on. It was my first attempt in that area too. It has won curbside awards. motor could easily be added as could shocks. The interior is simple. I hate to get rid of any of them, but I don't want to shove them in a box either. That's not good for them either. Thanks guys. Doug R

Doug, I've sold a few on eBay, just for the space. Most I've ever gotten for one was $35. Usually they sell for $2 to $5. I get more satisfaction from giving them away to people that admire them, or as surprises when I build a car that looks like someone's. My brother cherishes the two or three I built for him that looked like his old cars! Lee

Well, I put one up and its up to $26 and has 440 views in a day and a half? We'll see. That's why I did not list several,I hate to give them away for nothing unless to a friend. Doug R

well ok doug if you get rid of the gmc lets make a deal!!!! lol ill drop a nice motor in it i promise lol. ive sold some on ebay mostly to just get some extra $ for stuff, ive sold and made more money with a wip build then a finished one! example i build a 72 chevy p/u drag truck, that went for around $30-40. then i sold the wip one i was doing and that went for $68 somthing. hit and miss i think. ive got my nova flip front on ebay now and up to $20 or so, oh well i dont care really what i get long as i can the base price of what i bought it for ya know. (even though the hard work and parts) good luck with it though!! it is sweet lookin! Manny
