Thanks guys. The US flag was a .gif file I found on the web. I was then able to open it in a photo editor software program and reduce it some to match the size I wanted which was 3 inches long by 1 7/8 inches. I printed it out on Testors decal paper and clear coated it a few times. It did take a little time to flatten out and keep straight at the same time. I then clear coated the top lightly to prevent the colors from running then applied a heavier coat.

How was the kit? I own a 2005 Mini Cooper S... and was thiking of making one.

The Revell kit is nice and builds relatively easy with good fit and would work for a 2000-2002. In order to convert it to a 2005 S, you would need to change several things though. I believe the front grill and fog lamps are different as well as the rear taillight color and lower molding and the interior door sides and dash gauges.
