Please be aware that it is unfortunate that OHLDAD3 (Ron) has not followed through with this years Christmas gift exchange partner(member) after signing up for the festivities... and..... has not contacted the member..... nore responded to the emails sent by Admin.

I will not recommend against any future dealings with OHLDAD3 (Ron)....... but will advise to exercise caution.

That's too bad-He seemed like a good guy . Has any body talked to him to see if he's OK ? Hate to see the guys name dragged through the mudd if some thing happened to him........Lets be mindfull of what Christmas is REALLY about.

I dont personallythink he is a bad guy, and that is why I havent flat out said not to do any dealings with him, I just think future dealings should be exercised with caution ...thats all.....The member that was suposed to echange with has left a few messages to try to get hold of him since late Oct for his address but with no luck. I and one of my moderators have sent a few emails as well with no luck.
I havent seen any activity on the LOEM since Nov 1st which happens to be the day after the cut off to sign up, but he has shown activity on other sites as late as Nov 21st. He has signed up for Christmas exchange on the another site as well ,and seems like that member is being hung out to dry as well based on the posts that have been written. That member too has been trying to get hold on him with no luck even though he has shown activity there.
I am not angry or fustrated....just disappointed that issues like this seem to happen at a time of year where its supposed to be the most fun for all.

I understand what your saying Dan-But what about the rest of the year ? I've helped some people out with kits and parts through out the year....Do I expect to even get a Christmas card from them ? HECK NO ! Is it going to change how I do things in the future ? NO WAY ! I try to promote modeling to any one who'll listen-Given away more kits this year than I've built, same as last year and the year before that. Did'nt ask for any thing in return-even paid the shipping $ my self, How do you think I feel ?
MAYBE it should be more about improving the "modeler" than the models we build ?
Back to the topic : I hope people will wait to hear Rons side of the story before we make him out to be the bad guy !And if we find out he's been hurt or out of work, having family troubles-You would clear his name with the same effort as you did to bring this to our attention> Wish some one would have given me that opportunity......

I help out a modeler friends through out the year as well to promote as you do without any recognition which is fine.....but the difference is, is that when I tell you that you will get the parts or the help or I sign up for anything, if there is any delay....I will email to let you know.....what I dont understand is that if you have the time to be on the sites to surf.....you should have the time to at least email your trading partner to let them know that you may be unable to fulfil your participaction so that other arrangements can be done....not just drop out of site.......
If we here from him and get to hear his side to why he just bailed out....I will post that outcome as well. On the other hand, I have not gone out of my way to trash him. ....but if it was me....that would have done that.....without hesitation.....I would get the same treatment if not worst as I have seen over the years of people being put in the Bad Traders List

Peace and Good Will is all I was saying RadRods, Every one seemed to like Ron before this happened ? Sure didn't mean for it to get stinky between You and Me, I agree 100% about putting on your big boy pants=standing up and doing what you said you were going to do ! Christmas is still 2&1/2 weeks away, Have faith in the guy, if it turns out he's no good, we should pray for him on that level too. I don't think MOST people set out to be bad.
Some are blessed more and some are blessed less. Of course you would be held to a different standard than say Olddad3, You have your own site and have been an upstanding modeler/teacher. Ron (whom I don't know personally either) just popped up one day and jumped right in there. Every body has to start some where. Look at me=I read the rules here about the gift exchange and saw there was a new "100 post limit" and just made my 100th post sticking up for a guy I don't even know=and may or may not be a rat. I hope he's not 'cause I kind of liked him.

Cecil..... :DDont worry......there is defenately no bad blood between us nore did you offend me......I fully understand where you are coming from and respect your input.....I do not dislike Ron, Knowing that there is still 2 1/2 weeks left and that his trading partner had not sent out his kit and that we were able to accomodate a stranded member so that he may enjoy what he had signed up for,are the reasons why Im not out to trash Ron but just to let people know that to their own discretion they should exercise caution when dealing with Ohldad3. Theres always room to re-establish one's slightly blemished doings, which I sincerely hope for.

I also agree with you Bear. I do things for people on other sites and don't expect anyrthing in return. But when you sign up for somthing or promise somthing. An e-mail or PM is fine with me if you can't conplete the thing peomised, How long can that take
Just be weary if you do any trading, that's all...
