Not sure if this is new to anyone. I picked it up from the military guys. The Silly Putty I am using is some knock-off brand from the Dollar Store. It is especially useful for those weird and wacky shapes and holes that would be a nightmare to mask off. My example is from Tamiya's 911 GT1. The rear cowl had four places that I thought I would give the putty a try. Below is a picture of the putty on the outside of the body. And a pic. from the inside of the body. You can see the putty in the vents. At the top of the pic you can see the putty in the large irregular shaped holes. As you can see the putty did a great job. It actually did better than the masking tape! note the wheel arch...lol. No overspray at the vents whatsoever. Just have to do a little clean up and touch up. Hope this helps someone in the future. It is a neat little trick. Give it a try!
