Got this one in a trade on another board. Complete kit, body was already painted and decaled when I got it. I just really like the color on it. Tried these Cragars on it, but felt they were too small. Then in Cookeville one of the $5 kits I got had this set of wheels in it, I like them a lot better! I think these look more like a pro touring set up than a donk, but the car still seems to set a bit high. I may try and lower the front end some, but the rear will stay the same. Also thinking of a black interior with white seats and door panels. Thanks for checking it out yall.

Along with lowering the front a notch, I'd also lower the back a half notch if it were me.
Just my 2 cents worth .....

Yeah, I think you're right Gary. Anyone ever lowered one of these kits?

I'm with Gary & Bobby, wheels look good and I think it would look good lowered just a bit. There are several different ways to lower it. Some more "professional" than others. There is always just elongating the hole in the back of the wheel. I have not built this kit so I don't know how the suspension is made. Good luck with it!

I like the wheels you picked out for it. I also agree, it would look really good with some slight lowering.

Thanks yall. I have put this one on hold for just a bit. Got a couple of things I am working on for lowering it, including a chassis from a Charger. I am also going to try and see if a Hemi will fit, as soon as I get one.

Go with a modern Hemi from the 300C kit.

I could give you some hints on lowering it as I lower all of my builds. I usually totally redo my suspensions though. If you want simpler tips BMC tutorials has a few.
Alex.

Sure Lex, I'm open to all suggestions. I do have the frame and suspension from a Charger enroute, going to try those, but always up for ideas. And I'll check out BMC as well. Thanks!

Thanks! let me know if you need me. If I can find the time I'm going to start on a scratch built 4-link suspension for my '71 GTX Custom. I got everything for it except the time. Alex.

OK, tried a quick and simple lowering of the front suspension. Just elongated the holes in the wheel backs, and dropped the nose about 3 scale inches: And got a start on the interior:

This one has my interest Fireguy ! Any thing new with it ? I have an old Yankee Challanger that was started many years ago and shelfed when it gave me toooo many fits-so I dug it out after seeing yours and am going with the new hemi now and some Foose (Foo-Foo's) wheels, outside my building zone really but am willing to try it. So I'll be keeping an eye on this one. Cecil

Thanks for the comments yall. Ed, after looking at it I think I'm going to leave the back as is. Cecil, this one has been sidelined temporarily. Had a bad day at the bench last week. Added a satin clear coat to the interior bucket, and it went really bad, like it clouded up. Shook the can up real good again, reshot it, and most of the clouding went away. However it now looks like it has a gloss finish!! Put it away before I got real put off with it. Going to keep the 440 in it, decided against the Hemi. Maybe. Who knows!!

The new ride looks good. Or as us old farts called it the rake. I always liked the 60-70s cars with the back ends jacked up a little. As for the interior...you can always tint the windows and roll them up. Just kidding, you are smart to put it aside and come back to it when the frustration levels are lower.

Gasp, look what is back on my bench!!!! Got the trim foiled, interior is flocked, and most everything is painted! Going to add plug wires, radiator hoses, heater hoses, and maybe battery cables. Also made new exhaust tips for it. Hopefully will be done soon!

Got this one done last night. Grooved the front wheel backs to drop the nose, Kris Morgan distributor, added heater hoses, ProTech front license plate, my own rear tag, and aluminum exhaust tips. Accidently positioned the chassis to far forward, have some fit issues with the hood. Basically, if I turn the assembly backwards or leave it off, the hood fits fine. That would only be an issue if it goes to a show, which I doubt as I didn't paint it. And, the rear window shifted on me a bit and is not quite flush on one side. Not my best, but will do fine. Not sure if I'll take it to any shows, as I didn't paint the body. Thanks for looking.
