Has anyone on here dealt with Dencon Resin? I sent him an email asking about my order and he replied that he would get back to me in 24 hrs., but that has been a week ago.

i have in the past it takes him 4 to 6 weeks to get orders sent out he doesn't have anyone helping him with the casting he does it all on his own so he fills the orders as they were made.

I have bought and paid for this order on August 2nd. November 2nd will make three months I have been patient enough to wait. That is a quarter of a year for an order of resin!! I emailed the guy that owns Dencon Resin, Matt Conte, and this is the email he sent me two weeks ago. Brian, There are only a few more orders in front of yours that I need to get filled. Yours is in the next batch to get processed and filled. That should be starting early next week. it usually takes about a week no more then two from that point. Please feel free to contact me any time you like for more up dates. Thank you very much for your support and I very much appreciate your business. Matt I have tried to email him this week to see if my order was made yet and no reply, but he has mentioned on his web site that you need to get your order in by no later than the 1st of November for a Christmas delivery. At this time I think I can safely say that if you order from him and expect that, you are seriously kidding yourself!!! It is people like Matt Conte that ruin the resin business for the rest of the people that can and do take pride and care in their customers and their product. I wonder what my chances are of getting a refund?!

I know it has to suck Brian. Matt is a member on TMM. I can say he will not be getting any of my money.

Yes, it is VERY frustrating John, and here is an email i received on October 3rd, two weeks after I saw the exact same items i bought listed on Ebay and decided to ask then about my order. Brian, Thank you for sending me the info on your order. Your order has about 20 in front of it. If you read that page on my web site that I linked in my last e-mail to you, you will understand how I work my business. As for e-bay. first off. You do not see me sell allot on there. I sell on there when I need to. Yes I have to fill an e-bay listing over orders through my web site, but the e-bay customer is only able to get one thing at a time. Not a full order. When they ask me if I would sell them more. I send them to my web site to make an order and then their order would go in behind web site orders like yours, in the order they were received. If you also look at my e-bay listings. They are paying not only more money for the item then it is listed on my web site. They are also paying $4.00 or $5.00 for shipping. You are getting free shipping with your order through my web site. If you would had purchased the 3 items you got from me on e-bay. You would had first have to have waited till I listed them. That could have been a month apart or more. You would have paid more for the item. You would have had to paid for shipping 3 times and that would have come up to $15.00 (I do not combined shipping on e-bay) So now your $41.00 order would have easily turned into a $70.00 order plus it would had possibly taken your order close to the same amount of time for you to have received your order you made with me via my web site. I do hope this clears everything up with you. I do want you , as my customer, to be happy with your purchase with me. As it states on my web site. I am a one man operation and I do all of the jobs that it takes to running a manufacturing and sales company like mine. Because of this. If something happens during my work week that stops me from working. Production stops. because of that I do not give dates on when an order will be sent. I have done that in the past and I have gotten in trouble. The best that I can give you is an approximation if all goes well and I can work a full day all 5 days of the week. So, as it looks right now. I will be filling your order some time mid next week. I go to the post Office once or sometimes twice a week when I have a bulk of orders ready to go out. So when you order is filled. It will go out anywhere from a day to a week from that. It all depends on how many filled orders I have when yours is filled. I do this to keep my shipping costs down. That way I can offer free shipping. Thank you for your understanding, Matt Conte DENCON Scale Resin Specialties I especially love the part where he said mine would be filled sometime the next week. That means I should have had them by now. And it really speaks highly of him when I can buy resin from Australia at the same time and get that order within three weeks.

Matt had a reputation of ripping people off back when he had Lookout Models. I see he is up to his old games again.

Ordering resin parts from some places is pretty much a gamble. Another person might order from the same guy and get excellent service. The worst part is finding out too late, and theres really not much you can do at that point! I had an issue a few years ago with another famous caster....bought the parts on Ebay. After waiting and waiting, and countless excuses, I finally got my parts, TEN MONTHS after I ordered them, and they weren't that great in quality either! The lesson I learned? I won't buy anything from him again...even if he IS the only game in town! I'll do without. I've never ordered from Dencon, but I had considered it....until now.
Nowadays, I prefer to buy resin at a show, where I can see the stuff and go home with it, but if I DO need to order anything, here's who I've gotten excellent parts and service from: Modelhaus, Freds Resin Workshop, Early Years, Missing Link, Ma's Resin, and M.A.D.(Kris Morgan).

Hello everyone. I am new but I had to add my two cents worth. I ordered from Dencoresin in january of 2011 and have yet to get any communication with him. I understand he has problems but don't we all? I have given up hope of any reply by now but really, a reply is not out of the realm. His past history doesn't inspire confidence. Anyway, beware. I have learned to check before I order now. Thanks y'all

Sorry to hear that you haven't even heard an email back from him. I have learned my lesson with resin casters, get as much info as I can!! The last thing I had read about Dencon is that he shut down the web site and was selling things online through a hobby shop local to him and on ebay as he was able to cast parts, and that he was still going to fill existing orders as he can with no guarantee of delivery date. I would think that he would fill all existing orders first, then worry about ebay and the local hobby shop, but as I was told, he did this sort of thing before. Hopefully you will at least hear something back from him.

Never ordered from him...NOW...I NEVER WILL! What Matt does not understand, is, that by accepting money through the mail & NOT providing a service as agreed upon, he is in violation of U.S.P.S mail statues. Anyone who has not been satisfied, might want to contact the U.S. POSTMASTER with your complaints.
I have had GREAT experiences with Drag City Casting, although Ed had mentioned he might be closing down his operation. Which is a shame , as his resin is THE NICEST , I have ever seen & worked with.

I took a chance and bought the Dodge truck 4x4 conversion he does in resin through ebay, since if he did not get it to me I would have reported him and got my money back through them and he would have to deal with them. His casting is good quality, he just doesn't seem to care. If he had help maybe it would work for him, not sure. It is a shame that he basically told people that they may or may not get their orders.

Hey guys, I'm new to your site so I thought I'd introduce myself. I go by Nazz , I build mostly cars, and am working on a resin '64 Cutlass. I don't kike to bash but after someone takes your money and then ignores you, you get a little pissed. I ordered two items from Dencon Aug.2, 2010 and have recieved not so much as an email. I think it's clear that my money is gone, but what I find ammusing is that he was offended when people asked about their stuff. He is not a crook is he?? I love dealing with people like modelhaus and others who are honest buisness peolple and send what they promise. I'm glad to get this off my chest. Well back to my workbench for now. I promise my next entry will be a mora possitive one.
