Ok, been real busy lately, little to no computer time. But, have been working on the Revell 612 Scaglietti. Very impressed with this kit, and having a lot of fun with it. Mine had a slight warp in the body that I have been fighting, keeps slowly creeping back, but not as bad as it was. Also, discovered last night that the chassis has a bow in just at the back of the front wheel openings. Body fit is perfect, all 4 wheels on the ground, but the very nose will need a little massaging to draw up tight to the body. Hopefully a little hair dryer time will cure these issues! Oh, and I managed to drop the rear sway bar into the dangdest black hole I have never seen! Anyway, on to the pics:

A little update: Was going to clear it, but now not too sure. Paint is Model Master Guards Red, silver is Krylon rattle can silver. I have some Tamiya clear and some Krylon Krystal Klear, not sure how they would interact with the paint. I just hate having that raised edge between colors, but would hate even more to have to strip it off and restart!

Final mock up shot: And the interior is done: Since taking the pictures I have touched up the air vents, they are all black now, touched up the tan around the third brake light, and put the silver base on for the brake light lens. You can see in the first pic the hood doesn't sit right. Tried and tried to remedy that, just could not get it all the way fixed.

I was wondering about the sliver on the front of the car...Now that you have shown the updates, I understand. That really looks sharp!

I too was wondering about the silver on the hood. What is the history of the car? A road racer?

Thanks yall! John, this was one of 2 cars Ferrari built in 2005 to make a special trip around China( the other was silver with a red nose). They travel side to side and top to bottom, about 15,000 miles. A guy on another board had built the silver car, then offered these decals to me. I really like this kit, went together very well. Here is a link to an article on the journey: www.carpages.co.uk/ferrari/ferrari-612-scaglietti-31-08-05.asp

I just dug this kit out of the stash. Your pictures will really help with the detailing. I don't like the colors the instructions want me to use...grey and tan for the interior. Your tan really looks sharp. I think I will go with a tan and dark brown trim. After all if one can afford a Ferrari...one should be able to personalize it

Thanks Robert. If it helps, I used Tamiya Sand Beige on the interior. You can also check ebay motors for reference photos.

Nice build! I believe all the RoG kits had the same problems as yours. Most of them had hood clearance problems too. If there is one thing to say about this particular kit is that Revell made it very easy to detail out. A great kit with some fit issues. I built mine in Nero Daytona with same color interior. Nice work with the decals too. Chris
